John Carroll University wanted wanted inspirational commercial cinematography that embraced the forward motion they bring to education. I chose a mix of gimbal and handheld camera movement to maintain kinetic energy throughout the commercial. We blocked out the framing to highlight the action, bringing a focus to the students and faculty.
The commercial cinematography in this spot won a platinum Viddy Award and bronze Telly Award .
We went with moody lighting for the commercial cinematography. Lighting was headed up by gaffer Ryan Keeper from Sequential Image Productions.
Movi gimbal operator P. J. Mozingo brought dynamic camera movement to the commercial cinematography.
