Video production is a collaborative medium in which individual creatives and technicians partner together to create a video. It's vital to gather creative team players and collaborative technicians who can bring the vision to life. The team will make or break the video production.

This project for ESPN and Toyota was the first time I collaborated with director Sara Hirsh Bordo and producer Fredrik Lidskog. They trusted me to capture their unique story and gather a dependable local team. I often help crew up productions since I have many connections from over twelve years in the video production industry. I’ve worked with many dependable crews over the years, and I’m able to pull from my vast network of filmmakers to gather the best team for each video production.

We interviewed marathon runner Liz Ferro. She shared how she helps girls overcome challenging circumstances through wellness and running. For the rest of the video production, we captured Liz training a group of girls who are a part of her program. Our time with the girls was limited, so we had to work fast and effectively. We shot with two cameras, on zooms, and my camera assistant pulled focus remotely to ensure we captured the authenticity of the training session.

The success of every video production hinges on the crew. I strive to build the best team for every project so we can serve the story and vision. Thanks to the hard work and collaboration of our team, this video production won gold for the craft of cinematography in the 2022 Viddy Awards.
